Cast iron vs. Carbon Fiber
Phoresia.org &bull Aug 2, 2011It's interesting how you approach possible solutions to problems given a bit of context and perspective. Case in point, in my search for a longer lasting better performing surfboard, I've turned to technology and manufacturing techniques to get me where I want to go. The antithesis to that is my strive to simplify my cooking setup. I've gone from high-tech teflon-coated skillets back to centuries old cast iron skillets. Both have proven to be solid, reliable solutions to the problems I'm trying to solve but both approach the problems… Full Story »

Alan Stokes pulls air reverse to victory
Surfer Today &bull Jun 26, 2011
Alan Stokes has conquered the Quiksilver Expression Session by pulling off a massive air-reverse, at Tullan Strand Beach, Bundoran. The 30-year-old surfer from Newquay claimed the 3,500 Euro in peaky 3-4ft waves. It is not a bad day's work really," laughed Stokes on his win. There were great waves in the end and it was good to have it on a wedge because it is high performance surfing and it all came good. It is my first trip to Bundoran, I love it and it is great. Guinness and waves I can do airs on is as good as… Full Story »

Call later.Attached was a list of references: Wayne Rich, Clyde Beatty, Steve Walden, Gene Coope. Yater for god's sake.A month later, shaped blanks snug in their bubblewrap cocoons, I wound through vineyards, redwoods, and finally the Mendocino Coast. A far cry from the industrial parks down south and their parking lots littered with bags… Full Story »
